Last week, Volvo Construction Equipment (VCE) hosted the SkillsPA Heavy Equipment Competition at their facility in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. The competition brought together 14 competitors from five different schools across the state to showcase their skills in heavy equipment operations.
The event was a success, with students competing in a variety of challenges that tested their knowledge, expertise, and problem-solving abilities. From excavators to bulldozers, these young operators put their skills to the test in a thrilling display of talent and dedication and spent time gaining knowledge and experience in some machines they had yet to operate.
VCE, the SkillsUSA Business & Industry Partner of the Year, was the perfect host for this event. Their commitment to excellence and innovation was on full display throughout the competition, as students were able to operate state-of-the-art equipment and receive guidance from industry experts.

Highway has been a proud supporter of the SkillsPA Heavy Equipment Competition for many years, and this year was no exception. Three of our own industry professionals attended the event as judges, providing valuable guidance and feedback to the students. We're committed to supporting the next generation of operators and technicians, and we're thrilled to be part of an event that promotes excellence, innovation, and dedication in the heavy equipment industry.
We can't wait to see what these talented young operators will accomplish in the future, and we look forward to the next SkillsPA competition.
