Sharpen Your Operator Skills with the Volvo CE Road Institute

Updated: Apr 6, 2020

On July 30, 2019, Volvo CE announced the 2019-2020 course schedule for the 54th-annual Road Institute.

The Volvo CE Road Institute, designed for newcomers and industry veterans alike, provides the training you need to improve operator skills in a classroom setting for theoretical training and hands-on operation for practical application. You do not need to own a Volvo machine to participate; the purpose of the Road Institute is to provide the best operator training in the industry.

Registration is open, with sessions running through May 2019. The cost is $1,000 per student for a three-to-five day course, or $500 per student for a two-day seminar.

“We encourage people to register early because sessions fill up fast," said Road Institute Compaction Training Specialist Wayne Tomlinson. "That’s especially true of our extremely popular "Paver and Compactor Operation and Maintenance" class. Our students leave the classes with increased knowledge that will help them produce better quality mats, reduce operation and maintenance costs, and improve on a variety of other skills, all of which could help them earn higher bonuses.”

Held at the Road Institute Training Centers in Shippensburg and Chambersburg, PA, sessions last two-to-five days, and instructors with decades of field and teaching experience incorporate the latest Department of Transportation requirements. The paver and compactor courses also qualify toward NAPA Diamond Paving commendation requirements.
