On April 13, 2018, our Drums branch held its fifth annual Customer Appreciation Day at Whitetail Preserve in Sugarloaf, PA. The purpose of this yearly event is to spend quality time with our customers and generate interest in the equipment. With the largest attendance to date, almost 150 local customers came to look at the equipment lineup and enjoy a beautiful sunny day of skeet shooting, trap shooting, sporting clays, and free giveaways.

The Herron Electric family won the Orioles raffle.

Whenever a white sporting clay appeared, the lucky shooter selected from a free Highway water bottle, Volvo CE, Carlson Paving Products, or LeeBoy Performance branded hat, or Volvo belt buckle.

The event also featured a raffle, courtesy of Volvo Financial Services District Finance Manager Katie Crow, for tickets and dinner to a Baltimore Orioles game. The team from Herron Electric in Mountain Top, PA, won the drawing.

"We look forward to this event now every spring. Really appreciate Highway inviting us to your outing. It’s a great way to kick off the year."

While Customer Appreciation Day is a great opportunity for our customers to familiarize themselves with our staff and equipment, the event also gives us a chance to make memories and learn more about them as well. "Al from Weiner Iron ate lunch at Katie’s table and entertained her with his life stories," Drums Service Department Employee Adam Drumheller recalled. "Katie may never be the same after that!"

"Our customers were exposed firsthand to new models and brands," said Vice President Ryan Flood. "As a result of the event, we are sending an SDLG 918 compact wheel loader to demo, we sold a Bobcat MT85 mini track loader to a local municipality, and there is a sale in the works for an EC250E crawler excavator."

Highway staff, including Flood, Drumheller, Territory Sales Managers Joe Rick, Adam Bogert, and Ryan Whitmiller, Bobcat Sales Line Representatives Jason Bissol and Jamie Kane, Sales Coordinator Jordan Coats, Service Manager Justin Bloss, and HR, Marketing, & Communications Assistant Mary Wagster were responsible for promoting and coordinating the event. Former Sales Manager Bob Palermo, who retired on December 29, 2017, after 55 years of service with us, also made an appearance.
