As part of a continued collaboration effort between Highway Equipment & Supply Co. and Penn College of Technology, we’re proud to announce a newly established scholarship opportunity for students. As a participating member of the school's "Corporate Tomorrow Maker" program, Highway will choose recipients from eligible applicants that are accepted into a Penn College of Tech program of study.
As the demand for skilled trade jobs continues to grow, it is crucial to support and encourage students who are interested in pursuing careers in these fields. Heavy equipment technicians are essential workers who keep our infrastructure running smoothly. They work with a variety of equipment to ensure that the machines are functioning safely and efficiently. Without these men and women, construction projects would come to a halt, and our transportation systems would suffer.
Penn College of Technology offers several programs that prepare students to become heavy equipment technicians. The Heavy Construction Equipment Technology Associate Degree program teaches students about hydraulic and electrical systems, engine repair, and more. The Diesel Technology Associate Degree program is another option that focuses on diesel engines and their maintenance. Additionally, the school offers certificates in Heavy Construction Equipment Technology and Diesel Technology.
Highway Equipment & Supply Co. recognizes the importance of supporting students who want to enter these fields, and is proud to be able to offer a $500 scholarship award to ensure that students have an extra financial resource to help in the quest to achieve their educational and career goals. The scholarship will be awarded based on merit, and any full-time student who has been accepted to the college is eligible to apply.
As a participating member of the "Corporate Tomorrow Maker" program, Highway Equipment & Supply Co. is committed to helping Penn College of Technology students succeed. This program connects businesses with the college to provide students with real-world experience and prepare them for their future careers. Through this collaboration, students have access to internships, job shadowing, and other opportunities that help them develop the skills they need to succeed in the workforce.
Highway and Penn Tech feel that this newly established scholarship opportunity is an excellent way to support the education of students who are interested in pursuing careers as heavy equipment technicians. With the financial support of the scholarship, it is hoped that it will help students focus on their education with a reduced burden of financial stress.
