"Building Tomorrow" With Volvo CE

Updated: Apr 6, 2020

Volvo CE President Melker Jernberg unveils the ECR25 and L25 electric machines

Volvo CE presented sustainable innovations at Bauma, the world-leading construction machinery trade fair and exhibition in Munich, Germany, with its most advanced portfolio of machines and services to date, all built on market-leading knowledge from across the Volvo Group.

With Volvo CE, Volvo Penta, Volvo Financial Services (VFS), and Volvo Trucks joining forces to offer an integrated package of products and services and an industry-first pledge to produce electric compact machines by 2020, "Building Tomorrow" was the theme of the Volvo Group's exhibition.

Leading The Pack With The Best in Show

The Volvo Group energized attendees with a pioneering display of product and service durability.

Volvo CE displayed and demoed more than 50 of its most advanced on-and-off-road machines across the live show and indoor display. The complete line-up consisted of 47 construction machines, six commercial trucks, including both the autonomous Volvo FH and a series of electric trucks, and a demonstration of Volvo Penta's engines.

Volvo CE presented its dedicated service offerings via touch screens and other displays, including the global launch of ActiveCare Direct and app suite updates to Haul Assist's Co-Pilot interface, including:

  • Real-time tracking map to improve hauler fleet traffic flow

  • On-Board Weighing feature to boost efficiency

Additionally, VFS presented special rates as low as 0.79% to customers who attended Bauma.

Turning Concept Into Reality

With decades of research and clean, productive products, Volvo CE is delivering real-world solutions to build a more sustainable future.

Volvo CE's dedicated innovation area detailed every step of the electrification journey, from concept to completion. The official launch of the ECR25 and L25 electric compact machines marked a significant moment in the company's drive toward building a more sustainable future.

The ECR25 and L25 were the first of Volvo CE's new electric range to be shown. The electric line boasts compact excavators and wheel loaders that deliver improved efficiency, reduced energy costs, less maintenance requirements, significantly-lower noise levels, and zero exhaust emissions, as compared to their conventional counterparts.

Partnership Power

Volvo CE President Melker Jernberg hosted the Volvo Group's joint press conference with the Volvo Penta and Volvo Trucks presidents.

"We have a longstanding dedication to innovation, from our pioneering research and development to today’s market-ready products, seen here for the first time at Bauma, but we cannot do this alone. Our ongoing collaboration with all of our stakeholders is proof that partnership really is the new leadership, and we are proud to take this journey alongside our partners and work together to answer the most complex challenges society faces with sustainable solutions for today and tomorrow.” -Melker Jernberg
